Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage with one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a time when someone’s words deeply impacted you—whether positively or negatively. How did it shape your thoughts or actions?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. What do the different voices in this passage reveal about people’s hearts and their understanding of Jesus?
• How does Jesus’ response to the paralyzed man go beyond what he was expecting? What does this teach us about Jesus’ priorities?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• Examine yourself: When you listen to sermons or read the Bible, do you focus more on knowledge or personal transformation? What does this reveal about your heart?
• Be honest: If your words and actions are a reflection of your heart, what do they reveal about your faith and trust in Jesus?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• What areas in your life do you struggle to recognize or respond to God’s voice? What might be hindering you from truly listening? Identify a specific way you can be more intentional in listening to and applying God’s Word this week.
• How can you use your voice—whether through words or actions—to testify about Jesus to others?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Lord for His powerful and life-giving words that bring both healing and transformation. Thank Him for His grace that meets not only our physical needs but, more importantly, our deepest spiritual needs. Rejoice in the truth that through faith in Christ, we are forgiven and made new, and that His authority to forgive sins brings us into a restored relationship with Him.
• Repent for the times you have heard God’s word but failed to put it into action. Ask for forgiveness for prioritizing your own desires over truly listening to and obeying His voice. Pray that you may have a heart of faith and humility, ready to receive His word and respond with obedience, so that your life may be a reflection of His grace and power.
