故事背後的故事 The Story Behind the Story

耶穌治癒痲瘋病人的故事的主要內容通常被認為是彰顯我們主的愛和慈心。然而,這個故事還有更深層的涵義嗎?本週,張國強牧師更深入地探討了聖經中最著名的治癒故事之一。

Many of us see the story of Jesus healing the leper as a demonstration of our Lord’s love and compassion, but is there more to this story? This week, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung carefully examines one of the most famous healing stories in the Bible.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage with one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a time when you had to choose between strictly following instructions and doing what you personally thought was best. What happened?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. What do you observe in the leper’s attitude?
• What does this passage teach about the difference between following Jesus for what He gives versus following Him for who He is?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• Examine yourself: How does Jesus see you today? Do you cause Him to feel uneasy? Or do you cause Him to feel at ease?
• Be honest: Do you obey the Lord’s instructions? Or do you regard your perspective and opinion better than His?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• How can you share your testimony in a way that points people to Jesus Himself rather than just the good things He has done?
• What area in your life is God has been calling you to obedience? What specific action will you take to obey Him this week?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Heavenly Father for His unwavering love and compassion that reaches out to us even in our sin and brokenness. Thank Him for seeing us in our isolation and restoring us through Christ. Rejoice in the truth that Jesus took our uncleanness upon Himself so that we could be made clean. Celebrate His gift of eternal life, and pray that we may follow Him not just for His blessings but for who He truly is.
• Repent for the times you have followed Jesus only for what He can give rather than out of true devotion. Ask for forgiveness for the moments of disobedience, when you have relied on your own understanding instead of trusting in His commands. Pray that the Lord will soften your heart, making you sensitive to His will and quick to obey Him fully, knowing that His ways are always best.
