1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a recent time desperately wanted something. How did that situation affect you and your relationship with God?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. What does it teach us about the role of faith in seeking and receiving God’s provision?
• How does the multiplication of oil demonstrate God’s ability to provide in seemingly impossible situations?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• In what way does the widow’s heart resonate with you?
• Be honest: How do you typically respond to a difficult situation? When faced with one, do you humbly and honestly bring it to God and seek His guidance? Why or why not?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• In what aspect of your life is God asking you to do your part and trust Him with His? Expound on how you will stay faithful while following through with your responsibility.
• What steps can you take this week to bring your needs before God in faith?
• What “jars of oil” (forgiveness, relationship, career, dream, etc.) is God calling you to obey in humility and desperate faith?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Lord for His unending grace and provision, even in our most difficult situations. Thank Him for His presence, for the hope that can only be found in Him, and for forgiveness that only He is capable of offering to bring us back to Him.
• Repent for the times you have doubted God’s provision or chosen to face challenges in your own strength rather than seeking His guidance. Ask for forgiveness for turning to ourselves and other things for hope. Pray for a heart that surrenders and obeys Him and to humbly depend on Him in every circumstance.
