Scripture Passage
Acts 16:6-10

Lifegroup Discussion Questions

1. Have you been wanting to do something that is good, and yet God says ‘no’? Have you been asking God to change something bad into something good, yet God says ‘no’? How did you handle these types of disappointments?

2. Sometimes God will stop us from getting what seems to be ‘good’ for us, to get what is actually best for us. Why do you think this is true for you? Please share your experience.

3. Like Paul’s “thorn in the flesh,” we all have something that is holding us back. It could be a person, a sickness, a situation, a weakness. You ask God to change it or remove it, but He does not. What do you think is your “thorn in the flesh”?

2 Corinthians 5:1-5

Life Group Discussion Questions:

1. What is your key takeaway from this message? Please share.

2. What do the earthly tent and the heavenly dwelling represent? Why do you think these metaphors were used?

3. When a believer understands that he will have an eternal home in heaven someday, how will it affect his life in this world?

4. Paul first used a ‘house or dwelling’ as a metaphor, and later he changed this to ‘heavenly garment’. What spiritual meaning does the heavenly garment have? How can we have this glorious garment?

5. Paul said: “For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.” What does this mean? What attitude should we use to face this earthly life?

Scripture Passage
Colossians 3:23-24

Life Group Discussion Questions

1. If you begin to do everything “as though you were working for the Lord and not for people”, how would that change the way you work?

2. Have you ever heard of work being referred to as “cursed”? Have you ever viewed your work as less holy or not equal to other spiritual activities? Why or why not?

3. Work is an important way to worship God. We worship when we work and we work when we worship. Why do you think this perspective is very important?

4. As the people of God, we are all “ministers and missionaries.” There is no such thing as “secular work.” All work is “sacred work” when we do it for God. Why do you think this view makes sense?
