Read Today’s Scripture Passage

Mark 14:12-26

Life Group Discussion Guide

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

Share how you usually respond when someone hurts or disappoints you. Does your response change when you expect it to happen?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

Read the passage. What does Judas’s life and actions reveal about the nature and danger of sin?

How does Jesus reinterpret the Passover meal? What does it reveal about God’s plan of salvation?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

In what ways might you be like Judas—externally following Jesus but internally driven by other desires?

Examine your daily rhythms: How do you remember and live in light of Jesus’ sacrifice (e.g., prayer, communion, serving others)? Are there ways that God is inviting you to integrate more into your day-to-day?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

What sin or unhealthy pattern do you need to repent from today? What concrete step will you take to turn away from it?

Who is someone you can extend Christ-like love and faithfulness to this week, even if it’s difficult?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

Praise the Heavenly Father for His unwavering faithfulness and steadfast love, even in the face of human betrayal. Thank Him for sending Christ Jesus, the Lamb of God, who willingly gave His body and shed His blood for your salvation. Rejoice that no sin or failure can overturn His perfect plan, and that His grace continually invites us into fellowship with Him.

Repent for the times you have chosen your own desires over Jesus, allowing sin to lead your heart away from Him. Ask for forgiveness for moments when you have taken His grace lightly or failed to remain faithful in your walk with Him. Pray that you would turn away from sin, guard your heart, and respond to Jesus’ love with wholehearted devotion and obedience.

Read Today’s Scripture Passage

Mark 14:1-11

Life Group Discussion Guide

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

Share about a time you gave something valuable (time, money, effort, opportunity) to someone because they were important to you. What made you willing to give it?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

Read the passage. How does it contrast the woman’s devotion with the attitudes of the religious leaders and Judas?

According to Jesus, why was the woman’s act considered a beautiful thing? What deeper meaning did it point to?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

Reflect on your relationship with Jesus. Do you tend to approach Him more for His beauty (who He is) or for His usefulness (what He can give you)? Where do you think this is rooted?

Do you ever find yourself calculating the cost of following Jesus instead of responding with wholehearted devotion? What fears or concerns hold you back?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

Is there something in your life that might be competing with Jesus for your wholehearted devotion or affection? Or, is there something valuable that God may be asking you to offer to Him? Identify what this may be and how you can begin to surrender it, starting this week.

How can your community/Life Group encourage one another to live lives that are centered on loving Jesus rather than simply using Him for what He provides?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

Praise the Heavenly Father for revealing the incomparable beauty of Christ Jesus. Thank Him for the intensely personal love shown through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, where He gave Himself fully for our sins. Rejoice that Jesus broke His “whole flask” for us, offering His life so that we may be forgiven and restored. Thank Him that His love awakens our hearts to adore Him and to offer our lives as a beautiful response of devotion.

Repent for the times you have approached Jesus more for His usefulness than for His beauty. Ask for forgiveness for holding back your devotion, calculating the cost, or allowing other things to compete with Him in your heart. Pray that God would change your heart so that you may see the beauty of Christ more clearly and respond with wholehearted, joyful, and unreserved devotion to Him.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

Share a time you delayed doing something important because you thought there was still a lot of time. What happened in the end?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

Read the passage. What signs and events will accompany the return of the Son of Man?

Why are the warnings about Jesus’ return meant to prepare believers rather than help them predict the future?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

In what ways might you be spiritually “sleeping” or neglecting what God has entrusted to you?

Do you tend to ignore or minimize the reality of Christ’s return in your daily life? What attitudes or habits reveal whether you are truly living in expectation of Jesus’ return?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

What change can you make in your priorities so that your life reflects readiness for Jesus’ return?

What responsibility or stewardship has God entrusted to you (family, ministry, discipleship, work)? How can you handle it more faithfully?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

Praise the Heavenly Father because He is sovereign over history and faithful to accomplish everything He has declared. Thank Him that Jesus will return in glory as King and Lord, and that His coming will fulfill all His promises. Rejoice that He has graciously made us part of His Kingdom and entrusted us with the privilege of serving Him while we wait for His return. Thank Him that His Word reveals what we need to know so that we may live in readiness and hope.

Repent for the times you have lived as though Christ’s return is distant or unimportant. Ask for forgiveness for being spiritually complacent, neglecting the responsibilities and opportunities God has entrusted to you. Confess the ways you have become distracted, lazy, or careless in stewarding your life, relationships, and ministry. Pray that the Lord would awaken your heart so that you may live faithfully, alert, and ready for the day when you will stand before Him.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

Share a season where something you depended on was suddenly shaken or removed. How did you respond?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

Read the passage. Why does Jesus challenge the disciples’ confidence in the temple? What does this reveal about misplaced security?

What does Jesus teach about the nature of the future, especially regarding suffering, persecution, and endurance? What does this mean for us today?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

Where are you currently placing your security (e.g., career progression, ministry contribution, family closeness, reputation, health) rather than fully in Christ?

How do you respond when your plans are disrupted or when seasons turn out longer and harder than expected? Are your expectations of the Christian life shaped more by comfort and ease, or by readiness to endure hardship?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

What practical step can you take this week to shift your security from unstable, temporal foundations to Christ alone?

What habits can you build to strengthen your spiritual endurance (e.g., prayer, Scripture meditation, community accountability)?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

Praise the Lord Jesus as your true and unshakable foundation. Thank Him that when earthly securities crumble, He remains steady and faithful. Rejoice that He does not leave you alone in suffering but promises the presence and power of the Holy Spirit to sustain you. Give thanks that in Christ, you have a future that is secure—not because of your strength, but because of His saving grace that carries you to the end.

Repent for placing your security in temporary and unstable things rather than in Christ alone. Ask for forgiveness for expecting an easy and comfortable future instead of preparing your heart to endure faithfully. Confess any hidden sin that you have minimized or ignored. Pray that the Lord would guard your mindset, deepen your endurance, and lead you to continually flee to Jesus as your refuge before the day of judgment comes.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

Share about a time when you were very confident in your understanding of something, but later realized you were wrong. What did that experience teach you?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

Read the passage. What specific behaviors of the scribes revealed that their piety was self-seeking and ingenuine?

What made the widow’s offering greater in Jesus’ eyes compared to the large sums given by the rich?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

Be honest: Do you find yourself desiring recognition, praise, or important positions? How do you respond when you are unnoticed or unappreciated?

Examine yourself: Is your devotion to Christ content and grateful, or is it often shaped by comparison with others? Where is this rooted?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

What practical step can you take to guard your heart from turning spiritual activity and authority into your identity and significance?

How can you cultivate a lifestyle of gratitude that overflows into joyful generosity?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

Praise the Heavenly Father for revealing true piety through His Son, Jesus Christ. Thank Him that He is Lord over our understanding, reputation, and worth. Rejoice that He sees the quiet faithfulness of our hearts and values sincere devotion over outward appearance. Give thanks that His goodness captures our hearts and enables us to live a life of gratitude, purity, and joyful generosity.

Repent for the times you have leaned on your own understanding and subtly made it an idol. Ask for forgiveness for using spiritual knowledge, service, or leadership to seek attention, validation, or personal gain. Confess the ways you have compared yourself with others or treated godliness as a means to benefit yourself.
Read Today’s Scripture Passage

1 Peter 4:7–11

Life Group Discussion Guide

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

If you knew you only had one year left, what would change in how you spend your time and energy? Why?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

Read the passage. How does Peter describe “deep” or “earnest” love (v.8)? What does it mean that love “covers a multitude of sins”?

How does Peter define faithful stewardship and the proper goal of all service?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

Who is currently stretching your capacity to love deeply? What makes loving that person/group difficult for you?

When it comes to hospitality and serving others, what attitudes most often surface in your heart (e.g., joy, reluctance, fear, or grumbling)?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

How disciplined is your mind during difficult seasons? Do your thoughts lead you toward prayer or toward anxiety and distraction? Identify one practical step you can take this week to cultivate a more disciplined mind through prayer and clear thinking.

How can what God has given you (gift, skill, resource, or opportunity) bless someone else this week?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

Praise the Heavenly Father for being the source of our strength, clarity, and purpose in uncertain times. Thank Him that He loved us deeply through Christ and welcomed us joyfully into His family. Glorify Him for entrusting us with gifts and opportunities to serve, and for supplying the grace we need so that our lives may reflect His goodness.

Ask for forgiveness from the Lord for allowing undisciplined thinking to weaken your prayer life and distract you from what truly matters. Repent for shallow love, a guarded heart, and moments when you choose grumbling over glad obedience. Confess the times you’ve neglected the gifts He has entrusted to you, or when you served through your own strength rather than relying on His. Pray that your life would be recentered on His glory, so that in all you think, love, and do, He is honored through Jesus Christ.

Read Today’s Scripture Passage

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

Share a time when religious activity/ministry felt busy but your heart felt distant? What helped you notice that gap?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

Read the passage. Why does Jesus respond with two commandments when the scribe only asked for the greatest one? How are loving God and loving neighbor integrated as one?

What is the difference between agreeing with Jesus’ teaching and truly entering the Kingdom of God?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

Examine yourself: When were the times you measured your standing with God by religious activity rather than by love for God and people? What does that reveal about your heart?

Where do you see the struggle between knowing what is right and actually doing what is right in your life?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

What is one area of your life where God is calling you to move from agreement to allegiance?

How can your love for God become more visible through concrete love for others this week (at home, at work/school, or in your community)?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

Praise the Heavenly Father for revealing His heart through Jesus Christ—the One who perfectly fulfills the Law and embodies the greatest commandment. Thank Him that His desire is not empty ritual but wholehearted devotion, not divided allegiance but a life made whole in Christ. Rejoice that through Jesus, we are invited not only to know God’s Moral Vision but to live in the Moral Reality of a restored relationship with Him.

Repent for the times you have mistaken religious activity for true allegiance to Christ. Confess the moments when you agreed with Jesus’ teachings but resisted following Him fully as Lord. Ask forgiveness for divided loyalties—when your mind, heart, and actions were not aligned in love for God and neighbor. Pray for grace to surrender every part of your life to Christ alone, trusting Him to do what you could never accomplish on your own.

Read Today’s Scripture Passage

Mark 12:18-27

Life Group Discussion Guide

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– Share a time you realized that you were limiting what God could do because it didn’t make sense to you at the time. How did that experience impact how you trusted God moving forward?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. What were the major errors of the Sadducees in their understanding of resurrection?
– How does Jesus explain resurrection as something beyond human understanding and imagination?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– Examine yourself: What shapes your expectations of God more right now (Scripture, past disappointments, or what feels reasonable and practical)? How does this view influence how you read and receive God and Scripture (approaching with trust vs. with conditions)?
– When Scripture challenges what feels comfortable, reasonable, or practical to you, how do you usually respond? In what ways might you be shrinking God’s power to fit the outcomes you desire and what your mind can understand or control?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– How can you read Scripture this week with greater openness, allowing God’s Word to stretch you beyond comfort instead of shrinking it to fit your preferences?
– How can thinking more deeply about resurrection help you face current worries, fears, or uncertainties differently this week?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Praise the Heavenly Father that His power is far greater than what our minds can grasp, and His Word is faithful and true beyond what we can see. Thank Him for the resurrection of Jesus, which assures us that His promises did not fail and never will. Rejoice that through Christ’s resurrection, our hope is no longer uncertain but secure, and that His peace is available to us even now as we trust in His mighty power.
– Repent for the times you have reduced God’s power to what feels reasonable, manageable, or comfortable. Ask for forgiveness for the moments you have trimmed God’s Word to fit your preferences instead of allowing it to transform your thinking and faith. Confess the ways you have lived with a small view of God, leading to fear, anxiety, or doubt. Pray that you may have the humility and discipline to trust fully in the certainty of resurrection, to honor the fullness of Scripture, and to live with confidence in the power of God revealed through Jesus Christ.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– What is one label people often use to describe you (job, role, strength, weakness)? How do you feel about that label?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. What does Jesus mean by saying, “Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s”? (v.17)
– What is the difference between religious obligation and relational devotion as shown in this passage?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– How have you been approaching your relationship with God lately—more as a transaction or as a relationship? Are there areas where you have been asking, “What’s the minimum required?” instead of, “How can I grow closer to God?” What does this reveal about your heart?
– What do you usually look to for your sense of identity or worth (career, achievements, relationships, possessions, or status)? Where is this rooted? What do these things offer you?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– What is one practical way you can move from religious duty to a deeper relationship with God this week?
– How can you remind yourself daily that your identity comes from being God’s, not from what you do or achieve?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Praise the Heavenly Father for creating us in His image and declaring our worth long before we achieved or accomplished anything. Thank Him that our identity is secure because we belong to Him, not because of what we do. Give thanks that He desires relationship, not mere obligation, and that He invites us to surrender our lives into His loving hands. Rejoice that everything we are and everything we have ultimately finds its purpose in Him.
– Repent for the times you have approached God with a transactional heart, offering duty instead of devotion and minimum effort instead of wholehearted surrender. Ask for forgiveness for finding your identity in achievements, approval, or possessions rather than in being made in God’s image. Confess the areas where you have held tightly to control instead of trusting God fully. Pray for a transformed heart that gladly returns your life to its rightful Owner.

When Jesus cleansed the temple, He challenged the authority of the religious leaders, prompting them to question the source of His authority. This Sunday, Rev. Jared Co reminds us that God allows disruption in our lives when we stray from His will. Will we respond by resisting this disruption or will we choose to repent and place our trust in our Cornerstone?

Read Today’s Scripture Passage

Mark 11:27-12:12

Life Group Discussion Guide

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– Share a time when your plans were unexpectedly interrupted. How did you initially respond (e.g., resistance, frustration, or openness)?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. Why did the religious leaders question Jesus’ authority? What was their deeper motivation behind the question?
– What does it look like to play it safe and to stake it all on Christ?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– In what ways do you resist Jesus when He disrupts your plans, routines, or sense of control? What questions or doubts do you raise to protect yourself from change or surrender?
– What fears (e.g., rejection, loss, discomfort, or uncertainty) most often keep you from fully staking your life on Christ?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– What specific area of your life is Jesus currently disrupting? What would repentance and obedience in these areas look like?
– Who can walk with you and keep you accountable in embracing rejection or discomfort for the sake of following Jesus more faithfully?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Praise the Heavenly Father for His sovereign authority that is not threatened by our resistance, yet still patiently pursues our hearts. Thank Him for His shocking grace—that even when we reject Him, He sent His beloved Son as the ultimate expression of mercy and redemption. Give thanks that Jesus embraced rejection and became the Cornerstone, so that our lives can be rebuilt not on fear or self-protection, but on His unshakable grace and truth.
– Repent for the times you have resisted Jesus’ disruptions, questioned His authority to protect your comfort, and chosen to play it safe instead of trusting Him fully.
