1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a recent instance you experienced God working through something that felt ordinary, inconvenient, or unexpected at the time. What helped you see and approach the situation differently?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. How does Caesar Augustus’ decree for a census show God’s sovereignty over history and human authority?
• What does the angel’s announcement teach us about who the Gospel is for and why everyone needs it?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• Do you truly believe that the Gospel is for you personally—that you’re a sinner in need of the Savior—not just for others? What makes you say so?
• How does knowing that Jesus chose an ordinary and humble life affect the way you see your own life and limitations?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• What is one area of your life where God may be inviting you to trust His sovereignty this season?
• How can you reflect Christ’s humility in your relationships, school/workplace, or community this Christmas?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Heavenly Father for being the sovereign God who rules over history, kings, and events according to His perfect will. Thank Him for sending Jesus Christ—humble yet glorious, ordinary yet extraordinary—to dwell among us and reveal His saving love. Rejoice that through Christ, His glory has returned and His presence is now with us. Thank Him for the Gospel that brings great joy, peace, and salvation to all who believe.
• Repent for the times you have sought peace apart from faith in Christ and trusted more in your own understanding than in God’s sovereign plan. Ask for forgiveness for overlooking Jesus’ humility and resisting His lordship when it challenges your pride, comfort, or expectations. Pray for a heart that truly believes, delights in, and lives in response to the Savior who was born for you, died for you, and rose again for you.

• Share a time you witnessed/experienced someone reflecting God’s sacrificial love to someone who may not deserve it. How did that impact your view of God’s love and our call to love like Him?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage and all the verses in the summary. How is God’s love unconditional, sacrificial, and eternal?
• Why can human love never fully satisfy the need for love in our hearts?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• Be honest: In what ways do you still seek satisfaction in human love rather than resting in God’s eternal love? Where do you think this focus on conditional human love stems from?
• Evaluate yourself: Have you been desensitized to the true heart of Christmas? What encourages and hinders you from doing so? How does the truth of God’s incomparable love shape your understanding of Christmas this year?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• How will you celebrate Christmas in a way that emphasizes bearing witness to Jesus’ coming rather than just the traditions of the season?
• Who in your family, workplace/school, or community needs to hear the message of God’s love this Christmas? What specific action steps can you take to share it?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Heavenly Father for His incomparable love that sent Jesus into the world to save us sinners. Thank Him for His unconditional, sacrificial, and eternal love—a love that does not depend on who we are but on who He is. Rejoice in the spiritual exchange of Christmas: that He gave us the gift of eternal life through Christ, and in return, He bore our sin and shame. May we never take this love for granted but live as witnesses of His amazing grace.
• Repent for seeking love and satisfaction in human relationships instead of resting in His perfect love. Ask for forgiveness for doubting His unconditional love when you feel unworthy or distant. Pray that you may surrender your heart fully to God, letting go of the fleeting desires of this world and embracing the eternal love He has shown us in Christ.

• Maging honest: Ikaw ba ay puno ng kagalakan at urgency gaya ng mga shepherds na ibahagi ang Magandang Balita ng Pasko sa iba? Bakit o bakit hindi? Ano ang naghihikayat at humahadlang sa iyo na gawin ito?

• Paano mo gagawing nakasentro ang iyong pagdiriwang ng Pasko sa pagtanggap kay Jesus bilang Tagapagligtas sa halip na tumuon sa mga nakasanayang tradisyon?
• Paano mo maipapakita ang pagmamahal ng Diyos sa pamamagitan ng pagpapaabot ng kabutihang loob (grace) ngayong Pasko?

6. Maglaan ng oras para sa pagdadasal (20-30 mins)
• Purihin ang Ama sa Langit para sa kaloob ng Kanyang Anak, si Jesus Christ, na naparito bilang Tagapagligtas upang manumbalik sa Kanya ang mga makasalanan. Magpasalamat sa Kanya para sa Magandang Balita na nagdudulot ng kapayapaan sa lahat ng naniniwala. Magalak sa mga palatandaan at pangakong ibinigay Nya sa atin sa Kanyang Salita, at ipahayag ang iyong pasasalamat sa mga pagkakataong ibinigay Nya upang ibahagi sa iba ang kwento ng Pasko.
• Magsisi sa mga panahong ipinagdiwang mo ang Pasko nang hindi nakatuon sa tunay na kahulugan nito. Humingi ng kapatawaran sa hindi pagtanggap kay Jesus bilang iyong Tagapagligtas at sa pag-asa sa mga makamundong bagay sa halip na sa Kanyang mga pangako.
