1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

• If you knew you only had one year left, what would change in how you spend your time and energy? Why?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

• Read the passage. How should living with the awareness that “the end is near” shape the way you think, pray, and prioritize your life?
• What does Peter mean when he says love should be “deep” and able to “cover a multitude of sins” (v.8)? How is this different from sentimental or surface-level love?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

• How much does the reality that “the end is near” actually influence your daily decisions, priorities, and commitments right now?
• In what ways might you be tempted to do nothing rather than risk discomfort, inconvenience, or sacrifice in serving others?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

• What is one specific way you can practice hospitality this month—not just opening your home, but opening your life?
• What gifts, skills, or resources has God entrusted to you that you are currently underusing or not using at all? Where might God be inviting you to serve more intentionally inside or outside the church?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

• Praise the Heavenly Father for His abundant grace that sustains both our lives and our service. Thank Him that every gift we have comes from His hand and is meant to bring glory back to Him. Express your gratitude for His love showed through Jesus Christ, who did not merely open His life to us but gave it up completely so that we might find our true home in Him.
• Ask for forgiveness for the times you have lived as though the end is far away, choosing comfort, convenience, and self-interest over loving and serving others. Repent for withholding love, grumbling in service, or doing nothing with the gifts God has entrusted to you. Pray that He would shape you to love deeply, serve faithfully, and steward your life in a way that brings glory to Him through Jesus Christ.

• Read the passage. How does Peter describe “deep” or “earnest” love (v.8)? What does it mean that love “covers a multitude of sins”?
• How does Peter define faithful stewardship and the proper goal of all service?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

• Who is currently stretching your capacity to love deeply? What makes loving that person/group difficult for you?
• When it comes to hospitality and serving others, what attitudes most often surface in your heart (e.g., joy, reluctance, fear, or grumbling)?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

• How disciplined is your mind during difficult seasons? Do your thoughts lead you toward prayer or toward anxiety and distraction? Identify one practical step you can take this week to cultivate a more disciplined mind through prayer and clear thinking.
• How can what God has given you (gift, skill, resource, or opportunity) bless someone else this week?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

• Praise the Heavenly Father for being the source of our strength, clarity, and purpose in uncertain times. Thank Him that He loved us deeply through Christ and welcomed us joyfully into His family. Glorify Him for entrusting us with gifts and opportunities to serve, and for supplying the grace we need so that our lives may reflect His goodness.
• Ask for forgiveness from the Lord for allowing undisciplined thinking to weaken your prayer life and distract you from what truly matters. Repent for shallow love, a guarded heart, and moments when you choose grumbling over glad obedience. Confess the times you’ve neglected the gifts He has entrusted to you, or when you served through your own strength rather than relying on His. Pray that your life would be recentered on His glory, so that in all you think, love, and do, He is honored through Jesus Christ.

Ngayong Volunteer Sunday, hinikayat tayo ni Pastor Joseph Ouano na samantalahin ang bawat pagkakataon na ibahagi ang pag-ibig ni Kristo, dahil maaaring kaunti na lang ang natitirang oras para maabot pa natin ang iba.

• Kung alam mong isang taon na lang ang natitira sa buhay mo, ano ang magbabago sa kung paano mo ginagamit ang iyong oras at lakas? Bakit?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

• Basahin ang talata. Bakit mahalagang mamuhay nang alerto, may self-control, at may panalangin dahil malapit na ang katapusan?
•  Ano ang ibig sabihin ng “love deeply” at paano ito konektado sa pagpapatawad at hospitality?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

• Kapag nahaharap ka sa problema o uncertainty, alin ang mas nangingibabaw sa iyo—pag-aalala o panalangin? Ano ang sinasabi nito tungkol sa kondisyon ng puso mo?
• Paano ka tumutugon sa mga taong “iba” o hindi ka komportable—nagiging bukas ka ba o mas pinipili mong umiwas? Sino ang taong pinakamahirap mong mahalin o patawarin ngayon? Ano ang humahadlang sa iyo para magmahal nang mas malalim?

6. Maglaan ng oras para sa pagdadasal (20-30 mins)

• Purihin ang Ama sa Langit dahil Siya ang Diyos ng pag-asa kahit sa gitna ng magulong mundo. Magpasalamat na ang katotohanang malapit na ang katapusan ay hindi dahilan ng takot kundi paalala na Siya ay tapat at may hawak ng ating kinabukasan. Pasalamatan Siya para sa Kanyang pag-ibig na tumubos sa ating mga kasalanan sa pamamagitan ni Christ, at sa mga biyaya at kaloob na ipinagkatiwala Niya sa atin upang magamit sa paglilingkod.
• Humingi ng tawad para sa mga panahong pinili mong mag-alala sa halip na magtiwala at manalangin. Magsisi sa mga pagkakataong naging mababaw ang iyong pagmamahal, mabagal sa pagpapatawad, at sarado ang iyong puso sa iba. Mangumpisal sa mga pagkakataong ginamit mo ang iyong mga gifts para sa pansariling kapakinabangan. Magpakumbaba at manalangin na baguhin ang iyong puso upang maglingkod nang tapat, magmahal nang malalim, at mamuhay para sa Kanyang kaluwalhatian lamang sa pamamagitan ni Jesus Christ.
