1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • Choose 2 LG members to share a devotion they recently had.
  • For you, what does it mean to follow Jesus?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Describe who Peter was before the transformation.
  • How did Peter become a fisher of man? Describe his heart.
  • How was Peter transformed? How was his transformation manifested in the three times that the Bible records him sleeping? (1st during transfiguration, 2nd at the Garden of Gethsemane, and 3rd in Acts 12)
  • What did Peter learn from his encounters with Jesus? How did these encounters lead him to surrender his whole life to Jesus?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • What are your similarities with Peter?
  • Do you believe you can be transformed by God? Or have you given up trusting and hoping God can transform a difficult person in your life? What hinders you to believe this truth?
  • During the times when you fail to follow Christ, how do you respond? Please share. (Do you turn away from God or do you seek God?)
  • How can God’s love be a motivation / call for you to surrender your life to Him?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • Think of an area in your life or a decision you need to make. How can you be a follower of Christ in this situation?

6. Engage God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Pray for each other’s needs and concerns. (10-15 minutes)
  • Pray for our country. (10-15 minutes)
    • Repatriation of more than 80,000 OFWs in the coming days.
    • Southwest Monsoon causing heavy rains in many areas.

While the Apostle Peter made mistakes over the course of his life, his gaffes and failures did not define who he was. In fact, his life served to highlight just how much we need God’s transforming grace. This week, Ptr. Michael Cariño reminds us that we who embrace the grace of God can turn our mess into a message, our trials into triumphs, and our failures into faithfulness. Through the kindness of God, we can be led to repentance and transformed into Real-Life Overcomers.

2. Engage with one another (15-30 mins)

  • Magbahagi ng iyong natutunan mula sa personal devotion.
  • Para sa iyo, ano ang ibig sabihin ng pagiging tagapagsunod ni Jesus?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Sino si Peter? Ano ang mga katangian ni Peter? Ano-ano ang mga kamalian na nagawa ni Peter? Ano ang kanilang pagkakaiba ni Judas?
  • Ano ang mga ginawa ni Peter nang siya ay nagkamali? Paano tumugon ang Diyos sa mga pagkakamali ni Peter?
  • Paano napagtagumpayan ni Peter ang kaniyang mga pagkakamali? Paano pinatawad ng Diyos si Peter? Paano nabago ang buhay ni Peter?
  • Mula sa buhay ni Peter, ano ang natutunan mo tungkol sa Diyos?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • Para sa iyo, bakit tayo hinahayaan ng Diyos na magkamali at bumagsak?
  • Pagnilayan: Sa tuwing ikaw ay bumabagsak, nagkakamali, o kaya naman ay nagkakasala, paano ka tumutugon? Lumalayo ka ba o lumalapit sa Diyos?
  • Ano ang mga natutunan mo sa iyong mga pagkakamali?
  • Paano ka pinapatawad ng Diyos sa iyong mga pagkakamali?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • Paano mo maipapasa-Diyos ang iyong mga pagkakamali? Ano ang iyong mga pag-aalinlangan?
  • Paano mo matutulungan ang ibang tao gamit ang mga iyong napagdaanan at mga karanasan?

6. Maglaan ng oras para sa pagdadasal (20-30 mins)

  • Ipagdasal ang mga pangangailangan at mga alalahanin ng bawat isa. (10-15 minutes)
  • Ipagdasal ang ating bansa. (10-15 minutes)
    • Pag-uwi ng higit na 80,000 OFWs sa mga darating na araw.
    • Pag-ulan sa maraming bahagi ng bansa dala ng Habagat.
